LEVEL 2
FIRST TOUCH: PASSING & RECEIVING
LEVEL 2 focuses on First Touch (Receiving the ball) and range of passing techniques. Soccer7 uses unique exercises to increase the skill level and comfort of a player's first touch on the ball and to help players better coordinate their feet and control the ball more effectively. First touch of the ball is immensely important to all soccer players but should be highly emphasized and versed at a young age to help develop quality players. LEVEL 2 has many exercises that involve players taking far more than the usual amount of touches. Similar to footskill (LEVEL 1) regular sessions will see players take up to 3,000 touches on the ball.
LEVEL 2 also incorporates passing, specifically different ranges of passing. Short passing, lofted passes, driven passes, and reverse passes are just a few of the techniques involved in this part of the program. Coupled with the technical breakdown of passing technique, is the tactical side of when to pass and effective decision making for players making passes. Once all the elements are discovered, the program urges players to use their new learnt skills in a creative frame to put their talent to the test.
